A member recently shared this with me: “A question that comes up often from my peers is where do I find the time and commitment to workout as often as I do? My responses? Well it is only an hour, we have 24 of them in a day, I am sure you can spare one.”
We plan so much in our lives, but too often we don’t plan when we will go to the gym. I see it time and time again-the people who get the best results are the ones who schedule what days they will work out, and then commit to that schedule. Unless they are sick or on vacation, they work out on their chosen days.
However, It’s easy to push off our health and wellness when we think we won’t see the negative effects of not working out until the future. It makes sense- that project is due today, my kids need to be at their appointment now, and so on. The best way to prioritize your fitness is to remind yourself of the positive effects from exercising that will happen TODAY. You’ll be more efficient at work, you’ll have more energy, you’ll have more to give to those you care about. When you combine this urgency mindset with planning your workouts, your consistency will increase and you’ll build powerful habits that help you and those you care about!
